Michael Rianda is the director of Sony Pictures Animation’s upcoming action comedy “The Mitchells vs. The Machines,” a story inspired by his own delightfully crazy family, and his childhood infatuation with robots, coming this year to Netflix. He teaches at his alma mater, CalArts, and has previously worked for Pixar Animation Studios, JibJab and Disney Television Animation, where he served as a writer and creative director for the Annie Award-winning TV show, “Gravity Falls.”
