Lorien McKenna is a Writer and Producer for Film and Television. She is currently writing the feature based on Jesse Ball’s novel HOW TO SET A FIRE AND WHY for Straight UP Films and is in development on several TV projects. McKenna previously sold an animated children’s series TEDDY CATS to Jackal Group, an unannounced animated preschool series to Netflix and was the Co-Executive Producer for CURIOUS GEORGE for Hulu/Universal. She rewrote the latest animated feature from the Dubai-based studio, Barajoun (BILAL) and her VR short, FIREFLIES, is set up at Endless Media.
Her studio experience includes 10 years at Pixar Animation Studios in Story Development on RATATOUILLE, UP, BRAVE, INSIDE OUT, and THE GOOD DINOSAUR; Paramount Animation as the Associate Producer on the animated feature WONDER PARK; and ReelFx Animation Studios as a Story Consultant. McKenna is a Script Editor for Screen Australia and a judge and mentor for the CineStory Foundation.
McKenna grew up in Northern California and attended St. Mary’s College of California where she received a BA in English Literature and Performing Arts and an MFA in Playwriting. She lives in Glendale with her husband and daughter.
